Health & Safety

Health and safety come first at Deer Mountain. We create an environment where your child feels secure, cared for—and comfortable to shine.

Our air-conditioned camp infirmary is staffed with trained medical professionals who specialize in working with children. Our nurses are available on-site during camp hours. Many of our staff members have a variety of Red Cross certifications, and all of our van counselors and numerous on-site staff are trained to use EpiPens.

Each of our 6 heated pools and our lake are staffed with American Red Cross trained lifeguards, all of whom hold a Red Cross first aide certification—both on watch and as swim instructors. A trained lifeguard, our RTE certified trip director, and trained, attentive staff accompany all of our trips—with first aid kits on hand.

Hydration is an essential part of your child’s overall health, especially on hot summer days full of activity. We have iced water accessible throughout camp, both in the buildings and around camp in giant iced coolers.

For a summer of fun, safety is priority.
