A "camp within a camp", our Nursery Program offers pre-school aged campers a true Deer Mountain Experience
at a pace and level that allows them to flourish. Complete with its own air-conditioned Nursery Building, Heated Pool,
Lunch Area, Crafts Area, Playgrounds and Playing Fields, the program combines a wide variety of activities,
all of which are structured and supported by a specialized staff. There's no surprise that the Nursery is
one of the most spirited places at camp as our youngest campers MAKE NEW FRIENDS, LEARN NEW THINGS & HAVE A
TON OF FUN along the way.

Deer Mountain's Nursery Program is led by 4 to 5 Early Childhood Certified Teachers. We keep the group
size small with 4 to 6 campers per group. Groups are supervised by a lead college aged counselor and an
assistant counselor.

We offer 5 Full Day, 3 Full Day, 5 Mini Day and 3 Mini Day Programs to our Nursery Campers. The Mini Day
Program consists of a 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM option as well as a 10:30 AM to 4:00 PM option. The Mini Day
Program is available in Rockland as well as specific areas in Bergen and Orange Counties.

The Nursery Program combines a wide variety of activities that take place at their home base with
age appropriate Specialties of the "Big Camp." All activities are led by Specialists who focus on
working with our youngest campers. Arts & Crafts, Music, Creative Movement, Messy Play, Puppetry and
Playground Recreation, to name a few, all take place at the Nursery. No shortage of Sports time, our
Nursery campers work with our Athletic Directors throughout each week learning pre games and skills,
using age appropriate fields and equipment, that lead up to all of the sports we play here at camp.
These young campers also enjoy Boating & Fishing, Gymnastics, Martial Arts, Nature, Cooking, Mini Golf,
Tennis, Pony Rides and Ceramics. They visit the Nursery Pool twice a day, once for instruction and once
for recreation. Add Special Events, Professional Entertainers & awesome Theme Days, and you can see that
our Nursery campers do it all. Small group size and our ability to modify the location of activities
based on the needs of our campers on a given day truly set our youngest campers up for success.
